MetraTech Announces MetraNet 6.1
Delivers Breakthrough Business Configurability and Advanced Interactive Self-care
TM Forum Management World – NICE, France – May 18, 2010 – MetraTech Corp., the innovative charging, billing, settlement and customer care provider, today announced the release of MetraNet™ 6.1. The latest version of the award-winning product further extends MetraTech’s leadership in delivering Dynamic Business Modeling capabilities that create a strategic advantage for leading enterprises in industries with rapidly evolving business models including Cloud, Smart Grid, Financial Services, Media & Entertainment and Telco.
The new release advances the dynamic customer- and self-care capability of MetraNet 6.0 through the introduction of MetraView Active Customer Self-Care, allowing customers to more easily interact with their invoices, statements and account structure than ever before. MetraNet 6.1 also introduces a new capability for more rapid and synchronized configuration via Business Modeling Entities. Both of these new assets help users respond more quickly to the customization needs of their customers, especially those of large enterprise accounts, without compromising performance or scalability.
“The online customer experience is an area of intense focus for PGi,” said R. Scott Harris, vice president Global Online, PGi. “We are pleased to see that MetraTech has a similar point of view and created a new level of flexibility and Web 2.0 look-and-feel in MetraView as part of this release. We look forward to applying these new capabilities to enhance ease-of-use and personalization for our customers.”
Highlights of MetraNet 6.1 include:
- Active Customer Self-Care - New capabilities in MetraView, MetraNet’s web-based self-care environment, offer a framework for GUI-based configuration of screens, layouts, processing flows, workflows and grids. As a result, the entire customer care and self-care experience can be flexibly tailored across multiple brands, languages and customer or partner types. Unparalleled support for customer-enduser interaction includes the ability for endusers to tailor their own grids and layouts, and (where configured by the service provider) annotate invoices and statements and indicate electronically those areas of the statement or invoice where they have questions or disputes.
- Rapid Configuration via Business Modeling Entities – Business-specific entities – such as ‘chip,’ ‘travel card’ or ‘ticket’ for the Public Transportation vertical or ‘trouble ticket,’ ‘task,’ ‘job’ or ‘visit’ for the Customer Service function - can be easily added to the data model through a simple GUI-driven process. The entities will then be automatically available as needed in workflows, API’s and user interfaces across the entire range of charging, billing, settlement and customer care functionality. In addition, functionality to leverage these additive business entities can be quickly configured and automatically permeated throughout MetraNet without the time and expense of custom coding or creating new systems.
- Industry-leading Configurability without Compromise on Performance –A recently released MetraNet Benchmark performed on Microsoft systems software and HP servers simulated 60 million active corporate subscribers, with five accounts each, consuming granular, high-volume service offerings. The results demonstrated exceptional end-to-end transaction throughput, including:
- Rating / Pricing - 84,781 usage records/second, with each record inserted into an indexed database
- Billing - 669 bills/second, with an average of 300 events per bill
- Balance Updates – 1.2 billion/hour, including event de-duplication, with each event updating an existing balance in an indexed database.
The findings demonstrate that MetraTech’s technology, already known for its exceptional flexibility, scales to high volumes while managing continuous and highly granular services. With MetraNet 6.1, the advances in configurability and customer service that empower organizations to better respond to the individual needs of each customer are not constrained by the size or growth of their customer base.
“MetraNet is the ultimate answer to an organization’s need for ‘room to grow,’” said Scott Swartz, CEO of MetraTech Corp. “Businesses need to be able to expand their markets, innovate their business models and flexibly respond to their customers’ changing needs without being hemmed in by their billing system. With MetraNet 6.1, we continue to deliver on our promise of facilitating growth and the ability to manage the change that comes with it.”
